Biography

Nancy Cuevas is an artist living in the Portland metro area of Oregon. She primarily works in oils but also explores pastels, charcoal, printmaking and crafting.


She studied at the Art Center in Pasadena while still in high school. Attended two years in the Fine Art department at Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and studied character animation at Cogswell Polytechnical College in Sunnyvale, California.


She studied under Portland painter Alexander Rokoff for five years and has since attended workshops with Gabriel Mark, Jeremy Lipking, and Michelle Dunaway. Recently she attended a very inspirational demonstration by artist Richard Schmid with Daniel Keys in Putney, Vermont.


Nancy is enjoying working in different painting styles as she explores her own creative vision. Her love of animals has led her to paint them and sell prints contributing 10% of sales to her favorite animal rescue charities.


Nancy teaches drawing and painting. Her classes are small and her students are dedicated. She loves seeing her students learn to develop and trust their artistic instincts.
