Nancy Cuevas is an artist living in the Portland metro area of Oregon. She primarily works in oils but also explores pastels, charcoal, and printmaking.
She studied at Art Center in Pasadena while still in high school. Attended two years at Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and studied character animation at Cogswell Polytechnical College in Sunnyvale, California.
In 2004, her interests in portrait and figure painting led her to study under Portland painter Alexander Rokoff for five years and has since been teaching oil painting and drawing at her own studio, Cuevas Art Studio. Her classes are small and her students are dedicated. She loves seeing them learn to develop and trust their artistic instincts.
Nancy is enjoying working in different painting styles as she explores her own creative vision. She has exhibited her works in and around Portland for the last two years. She has won numerous awards in the local galleries and hopes to expand her reach as her work develops.
Her love of animals has led her to sell her prints, contributing 10% of sales to her favorite animal rescue charities.
